Indian Idol Academy

Indian Idol Academy is a music learning program that was launched during the Grand Finale of Indian Idol Junior Season 1 on September, 2013. It is a joint venture of KarmYog Education Network and FreemantleMedia. It draws on the values and expertise of the world famous Indian Idol Show that airs on Sony TV. The Academy offers a variety of musical courses for both beginners and experts in the field of music which is delivered through the OmniDEL Campus.
Indian Idol Academy gives the opportunity to learn directly from the maestros of Indian music. Legends like Hariharan, Alka Yagnik, Salim Merchant, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Bickram Ghosh associate themselves at various stages of learning, providing different levels of engagement with the learners.
Indian Idol Academy is already launched in 33 territories spread across 25 cities and coming soon to 20 more.
==History==
With the success of the Indian Idol Show, the brand Idol owned by FreemantleMedia had emerged as a powerhouse as far as talent discovery was concerned. But the brand owners did not restrict themselves to talent discovery. They wanted to venture into talent development through a music learning facility that was systematic and scalable. But the format of the Indian Idol show did not allow such a scope as it was based on elimination or sieving out one winner every season. So, FreemantleMedia decided to create a learning platform which concentrates primarily on talent development. For this, they was looking for a partner that focusses on education and training. It was at this juncture they encountered with KarmYog Education Network, a Kolkata-based e-learning company which specializes in creating holistic learning experiences using media and technology. It was KarmYog Education Network that eventually gave shape to a multi-platform learning program- Indian Idol Academy.
